Corner location surveys are simply the process of finding property corners that have already been set and are in the public record, but for some reason have become lost or unfindable by the owner. Surveyors use various tools and techniques to identify and confirm the locations of corner markers or monuments originally established during the property's initial survey. If all of the corners around the property are able to be found and verified there is no reason you would need to continue with the retracement survey process but it is important to note that corner location is not by itself a legal survey and will not update any public record.
